A techie who has lived in the USA for the last 18 years has returned to India with his aging parents so he could look after them. He has shared an emotional post where netizens who were moved by his decision to come back for parents have reacted to it.
In an emotional LinkedIn post, Balaji Gururajan, an accomplished Meta engineering leader, as per his LinkedIn profile, explained that in addition to being near his aged parents, he also wanted his children to have the chance to grow up with their extended family rather than observing them from a distance.
He shared a picture of a trolley with over a dozen bags and shared a post stating his experience. He said his family and he moved to Bangalore a month ago after 18 years in the US, closer to elderly parents, growing kids and a period of family life. Gururajan stated, “We didn’t want to continue observing from afar.”
“It still doesn’t seem entirely real. The Bay gave me my career, my closest friendships and a way of thinking about technology and leadership that I will carry with me for the rest of my working life,” Gururajan said. “To those who took a chance on me, they taught me something I needed to hear or just helped me get through the difficult years. Thank you very much!! I’m implying that more than just a LinkedIn post can really carry.”
“It’s been a separate kind of undertaking to settle in, including school, home and the daily logistics of beginning again in a city I remember as a lot younger person. It has been humbling and, more often than not, really good,” he mentioned further.
