Managing Western Border: India, China Hold Talks, Says Report

As reported by Reuters, the Chinese Defence Ministry stated on Wednesday that the Indian and Chinese militaries held “active and in-depth discussions” on managing and controlling the western section of the border between the two countries.

The ministry added that the meeting was held at Moldo-Chushul, on the Indian side of the meeting point, on October 25. During the talks, both sides agreed to maintain regular communication and dialogue through military and diplomatic channels to ensure peace and stability along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Relations between India and China have gradually improved since the end of the military standoff in eastern Ladakh in October 2024.

Earlier this year, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping held bilateral talks during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Tianjin — marking the Indian Prime Minister’s first visit to China in almost seven years.
