For the last 10 to 15 years, the travel trends are changing rapidly. Many are adapting to the change and also following the trends. The trends are going parallel with social media. Also, people are building their own travel profiles. Many are traveling privately or some are traveling for peace of mind, staying low profile.
Agoda, a digital travel platform, has released its 2026 Travel Outlook Report, which highlights five significant trends and insights that will shape the upcoming year of travel throughout Asia. Food is becoming a significant factor in travel across Asia, according to Agoda’s research, while Asian travelers are increasingly drawn to local excursions and hidden gems in their own countries, PTI reports.
The Travel Trends 2026 Report by Skyscanner indicates that Indian tourists are at the forefront of this change, seeking out experiences that are real, creative and meaningful. Travel decisions are becoming increasingly personal, ranging from choosing a place because a hotel’s architecture appeals to their tastes to arranging a trip to see a favorite bookstore they saw on Instagram.
Travelers are taking it easy, making meaningful connections and looking for experiences that are unique to them. In particular, Indian travelers are drawn to genuine culture, wellness, emotional experiences and meaningful relationships with others.
Wellness will be a Priority:
The next year’s travel trend also incorporates the wellness trend, as many will adopt the shift to exploring natural spots, peaceful places, retreats, spas etc.
Family Vacation:
55% of Gen Z have traveled with parents in the last two years and 42% of Millennials with both children and parents, according to some reports. Thus, it suggests that family vacations might be a trend that will continue next year. These are a few trends that will define 2026.
