Have you heard of the world’s longest road? This road runs through 14 countries and lacks a single U-turn. The 30,000 kilometers (about 19,000 miles) Pan-American Highway passes through as many as 14 countries.

The Pan-American Highway is a continuous route that connects major North American nations like Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. It runs via Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia into South America. Numerous records belong to this outstanding itinerary.

It would still take approximately 60 days to drive the full length of the Pan-American Highway, even if one could cover 500 kilometers each day.

The fact that the Pan-American Highway is the longest drivable road in the world is its most famous feature, according to the Guinness World Records. About 30,000 kilometers in length, the highway begins in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska and extends in either direction depending on the exact route. Tourists in the United States, Canada and Mexico have a wide range of options for their itinerary since they are served by vast road networks.

The Pan-American Highway, which formally begins at the US-Mexico border in Nuevo Laredo, is not officially included in any roads in the United States or Canada, which is interesting.

The building of the Pan-American Highway, which aimed to increase tourism in the United States, started in the early 1920s. The highway was built over time and made available to the public in 1960, following an agreement between 14 nations on its construction and upkeep in 1937. The longest road in India is the 4,112 kilometer long National Highway 44 (NH 44).
