The city of Mumbai braces itself for the 6th edition of Global Fintech Fest, which will happen from October 7 to October 9. The event will happen at the Jio World Convention Centre, and every tech expert or otherwise is excited for it. So what exactly is the fest about? Will Prime Minister Narendra Modi be a part of it? How will it affect the city’s traffic? We have it all covered for you.

Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2025 is about accelerating innovation, collaboration, and transformation in the ever-changing world of financial technology. It started in 2020 and has become a global platform where fintech leaders, policymakers, and innovators from worldwide come together to shape and better the future of finance. As mentioned on the Digital India portal, this year, the festival will happen in Mumbai from October 7 to 9. The theme for 202 is ‘Empowering Finance for a Better World Powered by AI’. At the event, the experts and fintech leaders will get to experience live demonstrations of DigiLocker, EntityLocker, and API Setu. The aim is to showcase how these platforms help citizens become accustomed to the fintech ecosystem. On October 8th, a signing ceremony or MoU will be held from 10 am to 11:30 am between MeitY and NesL.

On October 8 and 9, there will be masterclasses held on these topics: Cube on Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) 2023 – Awareness Workshop by MeitY and Cube on DigiLocker & EntityLocker Adoption Workshop by MeitY, respectively. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be a part of the inaugural session.

Will PM Narendra Modi be a part of Global Fintech Fest 2025, aka GFF?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Mumbai for the festival and is expected to deliver the keynote address on October 9, 2025. Along with Modi, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will also address the guests at the fest. The Global Fintech Fest’s official website mentions that the other entities who will be the speakers this year are Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra. Other names include Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Kalyanaraman Rajaraman, Dr Saurabh Garg, M Nagaraju, Francois Villeroy de Galhau, Burkhard Balz, Ulrik Nodgaard, Debora Sztarcsevszky, Marlene Amstad, and others. Celebrities like Allu Arjun, Suniel Shetty, Shankar Mahadevan, Sanjay Dutt, etc will also grace the fintech event.

It is reported that over 400 exhibitors, 500+ companies and more than 1 lakh participants from worldwide will be a part of the 3-day fintech expo.

Will Mumbai traffic get affected?

According to a report by Mid-day, over 1000 policemen will be deployed, and 100 traffic police officers will work to manage the footfall of over 35 thousand delegates for the Global Fintech Fest 2025 (GFF). T The report mentions that vehicular movement, especially in the BKC area, will proceed smoothly, and traffic will not be diverted. As UK PM Keir Starmer will arrive in Mumbai on October 8, the Mumbai police will ensure tight security that day. To avoid traffic and commotion, at least 100 constables, including 55 from the BKC area, will be stationed at 37 crucial traffic points in the BKC area from 7 am to 9 pm on October 7, 8, and 9.

However, a senior official advised the newspaper that individuals without important tasks during these three days should refrain from visiting BKC during peak hours. TThis advice is given to citizens to help avoid overcrowding.
