The Dow Jones has seen a remarkable hike. For the first time ever, the Dow Jones Industrial Average surpassed 50,000. The US stock market came back strongly to make up for the majority of its losses from earlier in the week and the Dow Jones Industrial Average soared 1,100 points, reaching over 50,000 for the first time.

Friday afternoon, the Dow increased by 2.2%. The Nasdaq composite increased 1.9%, while the S&P 500 rose 1.7%. The increase was partially fueled by chip businesses hoping that Amazon and other clients will continue to spend heavily on expanding their AI capabilities.

A more favorable reading on US consumer mood also helped the stock market. At least for the moment, Bitcoin recovered back to over USD 70,000, ending its weekslong decline, reported by PTI.

The index increased 1,206.95 points or 2.47%, on Friday, closing at 50,115.67. According to media sources and the Saturday morning figures, the Dow is now 4.3% higher year to date, compared to a 1.3% gain in the S&P 500 for 2026 and a 0.9% fall in the Nasdaq year to date.
