Instagram has come up with a new feature, called ‘Instants’. This feature is for sharing unedited photos in DMs. The Instants feature is located in the bottom corner of the DMs and is integrated into the platform’s direct messages. It is made for cases where users may wish to share a picture in private without necessarily keeping it in a conversation thread.

In contrast to postings or stories, the feature emphasizes unfiltered, unedited moments without filters, edits or curated aesthetics, as per the reports.

What is clicked is sent as is, since the picture cannot be modified after it has been captured. Before sending the picture, users can retake it if they are unhappy with it.

How to Use it?

Users must first update their Instagram app in order to utilize the feature. Users will see a stacked photo icon labeled ‘Instant’ in the bottom right corner of their DMs. The instant camera turns on with a tap. The photo capturing process differs from Instagram Stories in that users are asked to write a caption before taking a picture. After the caption is added, users may use the camera button to snap a picture.
