Apple company has shipped 50 billion USD worth of iPhones from India in 2025. The Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, announced on X that, crediting the increase to the ‘Make in India’ program and the move toward a producer economy.
Apple shipped 50 billion USD worth of iPhones in 2025, marking a significant step in our effort to become a producer economy and in PM Narendra Modi Ji’s ‘Make in India’ program, Vaishnaw said. According to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, electronics manufacturing has increased sixfold over the previous 11 years. Additionally, under the focused leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, electronics exports have increased eightfold, he said.
As a result of this progress, electronics products have become one of the top three commodities that are exported, he mentioned. With 46 component production projects, laptop, server and hearable manufacturers making electronics production a key driver of the manufacturing economy, they are contributing to the ecosystem, he highlighted.

This year, four semiconductor plants will begin commercial manufacturing. With several factories employing more than 5,000 people on one site, the electronics manufacturing industry currently employs a total of 25 lakh people. Some plants have up to 40,000 employees on a single site, Ashwini Vaishnaw said in the post.
This is only the start. India will become a key player in the entire electronics industry, including design, production, operating systems, applications, materials and equipment, he mentioned.
