Apple Reportedly Plans to Launch Low-Cost MacBook with A18 Pro Chip
In a move clearly intended to increase the number of Mac users, a new report claims that the firm is prepared to introduce a less expensive laptop running an iPhone class chip.
The new MacBook will be presented at an event in March, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who claims that Apple will market it as a more affordable way for people to enter the Mac ecosystem.
The A18 Pro is said to be the first iPhone chip to come close to replicating the original M1 chip, which began Apple’s silicon revolution on the Mac. The target audience should find the performance more than adequate for common computing chores like online browsing, document creation, media use and light creative workloads.
Apple has reportedly created a new method of producing aluminum shells that is faster and less expensive than the one used for the current MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models in order to lower manufacturing costs.
