Shikhar Dhawan is one of the most respected Indian cricketers, fondly called ‘Gabbar’ by fans worldwide. Since May 2025, Dhawan and his Irish girlfriend Sophie have been sharing romantic glimpses of their relationship. After a year filled with love, laughter, and happiness, the lovebirds have finally decided to walk down the aisle. 

Shikhar and Sophie are expected to get married in a traditional ceremony, hosted in Delhi NCR. Sophie Shine is an Irish corporate professional who has been working with the cricketer to lead the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation. According to reports, they had a close friendship that gradually deepened, leading them to commit to each other. Their relationship became serious as they started living together. Though the duo kept their relationship low-key, they made public appearances. One of their appearance was in the stands together at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. 

The wedding will be the second marriage for the former Indian captain. Shikhar was earlier married to an Australia-based Ayesha Mukherjee for 11 years. The two got divorced in October 2023 and share an 11-year-old son, Zoravar. Close friends of the cricketer are expected to take an active part in Shikhar’s wedding.
