Lionel Messi Sends Signed Jersey to Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ahead of India Visit

Lionel Messi has sent PM Narendra Modi a signed jersey from Argentina’s 2022 FIFA World Cup triumph in honor of the Prime Minister’s 75th birthday ahead of his much-anticipated visit to India later this year.

Messi’s promoter, Satadru Dutta, confirmed the gesture on Wednesday during the “GOAT Tour of India 2025.” Dutta told PTI, “When I met him in February to discuss the visit, I had told him that the PM’s 75th birthday is also coming, and he said he would send a signed jersey for the Prime Minister. The jersey will be delivered in two to three days.”

A Historic Visit

As part of his three-city tour, Messi will visit Kolkata before traveling to Mumbai and New Delhi on December 13. According to the schedule, he will meet Prime Minister Modi at his residence in the national capital on December 15.

Messi’s first visit to India will be since 2011, when he led Argentina against Venezuela at Kolkata’s iconic Salt Lake Stadium.
