The ten teams will once again lock horns to clinch the title. IPL 2026 will feature a new leader in Riyan Parag, who will helm the Rajasthan Royals after Sanju Samson was traded to the Chennai Super Kings. The remaining nine teams have retained their skippers from last season. Surprisingly, Sunrisers Hyderabad is the only team to be led by an overseas player, with Australia’s Pat Cummins in charge.
IPL 2026 begins with defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) hosting Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The opening match is set for a 7:30 PM IST start on March 28, 2026.
