Tamil Nadu Election Results 2026: Actor-Politician Vijay Makes Thunderous Political Debut, Leads With Over 100 Seats

Actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay has made a thunderous debut in the Tamil Nadu Election Results 2026, leaving both citizens and fans awestruck. As the chief Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), he is leading in the Tiruchirappalli East Assembly constituency. As per the early counting scenario, his opposition, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) candidate Inigo Irudayaraj, is lagging behind in the initial round.

As per the Election Commission of India, Vijay leads in Tamil Nadu. The state is witnessing a rare three-way fight, with the debutant Vijay’s TVK inclining towards victory with 106 seats. On the other hand, the DMK-led alliance has seized 40 seats. It seems that the TVK manifesto seems to have played the game for the 51-year-old candidate. Below is what the political party has promised.

• Rs 5 lakh interest-free loans for women self-help groups (SHGs)
• Rs 2,500 monthly assistance for women below 60 years
• Six free LPG cylinders per year for households
• Rs 4,000 monthly support for unemployed graduates
• Rs 25 lakh family health insurance cover
• Rs 2,000 monthly assistance for diploma holders
• Rs 25 lakh collateral-free loans for young entrepreneurs
• Establishment of 100 “Kamarajar Schools of Excellence”
• Rs 20 lakh collateral-free education loans for students
• Focus on welfare schemes targeting youth, women, and job seekers
• One sovereign gold and a silk saree for economically weaker women at marriage

TVK is confident of forming the government in Tamil Nadu. Thalapathy Vijay is ahead in both the seats he is contesting from, Perambur and Trichy (East).
