Puducherry Election Results 2026: CM Rangasamy Wins from Thattanchavady, Mangalam, NDA Crosses Majority
Chief Minister and AINRC leader N Rangasamy on Monday won from Thattanchavady and Mangalam, the two seats from where he contested the April 9 Assembly elections in this union territory. While the CM defeated Neyam Makkal Kazhagam rival E Vinayagam by 4441 votes in Thattanchavady, his pocket borough seat, Rangasamy, emerged victorious in Managalam too, defeating DMK’s SS Rangan by 7050 votes.
On Monday, PM Modi extended a congratulatory message for the NDA’s victory in the assembly elections in the UT. The Bharatiya Janata Party cinched Mannadipet and Neravy-T.R. Pattinam, and Nellithope changed hands from the BJP to Dravida Munetra Kezhagam (DMK). In the Thattanchavady constituency, AINRC founder and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy won with a clear majority.

The high-stakes battle in the Union Territory for the 30 elected seats witnessed a fierce contest between the ruling NDA, led by Chief Minister N Rangasamy’s AINRC along with the BJP and AIADMK, and the opposition INDIA bloc, comprising the Congress and DMK.
NDA has won 18 seats (AINRC 12, BJP 4, AIADMK 1, and LJK 1). A total of 16 seats is required for a majority in the 30-member House. The INDIA bloc won six seats (DMK 5 and Congress 1). Several constituencies witnessed neck-to-neck battles, where margins remained extremely slim. Independent candidates won three seats.
