In a notable political development in Maharashtra, two former MLAs from the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction), Rajan Patil and Yashwant Mane, have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The joining ceremony, held at the BJP’s state headquarters, saw the presence of key party leaders, including Maharashtra BJP President Ravindra Chavan, Rural Development Minister Jaykumar Gore, OBC Welfare Minister Atul Save, and State General Secretary Sanjay Kenekar.

Apart from Patil and Mane, several local office-bearers and grassroots leaders from the NCP (Ajit Pawar group) in Man and Khatav talukas of Satara district also joined the BJP. Shiv Sena leaders Nagnath Khirsagar and Ranjitsinh Shinde, along with members from teachers’ organisations in Marathwada, were among those who switched camps.

Welcoming the new entrants, Ravindra Chavan said their decision reflects growing confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. “These leaders have joined with a sense of purpose to contribute to development and ensure government schemes reach the grassroots,” he added.

Minister Jaykumar Gore highlighted that influential leaders from Solapur district had joined hands with the BJP to further local development goals, assuring full support and respect within the party framework.

Rajan Patil said their move was aimed at preserving the “self-respect of Mohol taluka” and strengthening the leadership of Modi and Fadnavis. Similarly, Ranjitsinh Shinde vowed to dedicate his efforts to the BJP’s mission of building a “Developed India and Developed Maharashtra.”
