Keeping the kitchen neat and clean is important and so maintains hygiene. Many a time while cutting onions or garlic can make your hands smell bad and have a bad impact on your skin. Here are some tips to keep the hands safe from excessive smells and maintain hygiene.

Use a paste of baking soda and salt or rub stainless steel, like a spoon or faucet on your hands under cold running water to get rid of lingering onion and garlic odors.

For 30 to 60 seconds, under cold, flowing water, rub your hands, especially your fingers and nails, over a stainless steel object, such as a spoon, ladle or your sink faucet. Rub your hands for 30 seconds after mixing 1 teaspoon of salt with 2 teaspoons of baking soda and a little bit of water to form a paste.

Maintaining a clean kitchen is essential for preventing foodborne diseases like salmonella and E. coli by getting rid of dangerous germs, viruses and parasites that grow on unclean surfaces and utensils.
