Destination weddings are getting popular and now the growth is also projected to be higher in coming days. According to a report, destination weddings are to make up around 30 to 32 percent of Indian weddings by the year 2028.

According to WedMeGood’s Destination Wedding Report 2026, destination weddings are anticipated to account for 30 to 32 percent of all Indian weddings by 2028, up from almost one in four currently, as an increasing number of couples choose smaller, experience driven parties.

According to the research, the average destination wedding budget has reached Rs. 58 lakh, indicating a greater desire for customized experiences and spending on destination weddings has climbed 8 percent year over year. The typical budget for domestic destination weddings is currently Rs. 58 lakh, whereas international destination weddings average over Rs. 1.5 crore, ANI reports.

Multi-day Events Extravaganza:

According to the poll, 42 percent of couples now favor experience driven, intimate celebrations above bigger weddings. As couples place more emphasis on multi-day events, wellness activities, curated food options and guest experiences, destination weddings now last longer, averaging 3.2 days as opposed to 1.8 days before 2020.
