In the month of March, there was a dramatic change in weather in Mumbai as well as in Pune, Nashik and rest of the regions of Maharashtra. Pune citizens witnessed a hailstorm some days before. Now the IMD has issued a statewide thunderstorm warning and Mumbai city may also face light rains in the upcoming days of April.

The Mumbai Regional Meteorological Center has issued a yellow warning in Thane and has forecast thunderstorms with lightning, light to moderate rainfall and strong winds (30-40 kmph) in certain areas on April 2.

The rain forecast occurs at a time when much of Maharashtra is under a warning for the next several days for lightning, strong winds, rain and even hailstorms.

The air quality in Mumbai has significantly improved. According to data gathered by monitoring systems, the city’s overall Air Quality Index (AQI) in the early hours of today was 31, which falls under the good category. On April 1, the maximum temperature may increase by 2-3°C before gradually decreasing by 2-4°C between April 1 and April 7.
