Water Supply in Mumbai to Be Disrupted for 30 Hours, Know the Affected Areas
Mumbai will face a water shortage from 10 a.m. on December 1 until 4 p.m. on December 2. According to the official statement from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 11 administrative wards across the island city and eastern suburb will experience low water pressure, and a few may experience complete suspension.
The decision has been made to carry out the work of connecting a 2500 mm diameter pipeline to the existing 3000 mm main water pipeline near Amar Mahal underground shafts 1 and 2, situated at Cheda Nagar Junction, Ghatkopar East.

The water disruption will occur to integrate the Amar Mahal Tunnel with the city’s water distribution system. During this period, several areas in A, B, C, E, F-South, F-North divisions of South and Central Mumbai, and L, M-East, M-West, S, and N wards in the eastern suburbs, will experience water-related supply issues.

- Byculla
- Mumbai Central
- Nagpada
- Dongri
- Masjid Bunder
- Worli
- Parel
- Sion
- Wadala
- Sewri
Moreover, parts of Kurla, Chunabhatti, Govandi, Deonar, Chembur, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, and Bhandup, located in the eastern suburbs, will also be impacted. BMC has requested citizens to plan ahead and conserve water during this period of inconvenience.
