Vyommitra, First Indian Hamanoid :India Is Ready For Its First Humanless Mission For Gaganyaan

India has taken yet another milestone in its space journey. The power of Artificial Intelligence has been used to its full potential in the development of Vyommitra, India’s first humanoid robot. Designed to resemble and act like a human, Vyommitra marks a new era in India’s space exploration.

The main purpose of creating this half-humanoid is to take part in the upcoming humanless Gaganyaan mission, which will pave the way for India’s first manned space flight. Vyommitra can mimic human gestures, respond to instructions, monitor environmental conditions, and even communicate with astronauts and ground control. Developed at Central Tool Room and Training Centre (CTTC), Bhubaneswar, this AI-enabled robot showcases India’s technological brilliance and innovation. Its role is to test systems, gather vital data, and ensure safety before sending humans into space.

Vyommitra’s name comes from Sanskrit, meaning “Space Friend” , a symbol of India’s harmony between science and spirit. With this remarkable creation, ISRO is not just launching a machine but taking a confident step toward a future where humans and robots work together beyond Earth.
