Bittu Tabahi is seen in the footage wearing gloves and taking trash out of the water. A man standing on a bridge above him appears to throw a bag of garbage into the space where he is cleaning at one point. He said, “While I’m cleaning this river, an uncle is throwing trash directly on top of me.”

He said he never thought this would happen. Additionally, the video shows him continuing his efforts as other people seem to dump trash into the river at various points. The river’s protection, according to him, is a communal duty rather than a solitary one.
