“This Is Your House”: Daughter Surprises Father, Gives New Home Tour

An emotional video is going viral where a daughter surprises her father with a new home tour in Kuala Lumpur. The story is shared by Mahrukh Moghal. Humans of Bombay on Instagram uploaded the video.

Mahrukh and her relatives are seen checking out an apartment at the start of the video. They are there, her father believes, to see a piece of land bought by another family member. However, Mahrukh confesses during the trip that she had purchased the flat for him as a Father’s Day present.

He is rendered speechless by the surprise. He stands motionless for a few seconds before becoming overcome with emotion and starting to cry. As the rest of the family watches, his daughter hugs him and offers solace.

Mahrukh disclosed that her father, a corporate trainer, had been the family’s main source of income for close to thirty years. Her mother finally left work to focus on the family, while he paid for the education of four kids from elementary school through college. They sent her when Mahrukh wanted to attend a two week program in Thailand while she was a university student. They backed her up even more when she expressed a desire to study in South Korea for a semester. She had always wanted to repay her parents, especially since they had lived in leased residences for a number of years.

They eventually discovered an apartment with a view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline during the hunt. The property’s house number, which corresponded to her father’s birthday, was another feature that made it stand out. Getting her dad to the flat without raising his suspicions was the hardest part. Before bringing him to the property, she and her sister took him out for lunch and kept him occupied. He went inside believing that his uncle had purchased the apartment. Instead, he was given the keys and informed that the house belonged to him.

He was rendered speechless and emotive by the revelation. He claimed that he kept weeping for the following several days whenever he thought about the gift. She thought all her hard work had been worthwhile because of his response.
