The southwest monsoon has moved into some areas of the southeast Arabian Sea, the southwest and southeast Bay of Bengal, the Andaman Sea, the whole Nicobar Islands and portions of the Andaman Islands, notably Sri Vijaya Puram, the IMD stated on Saturday. It’s possible that the monsoon will reach Kerala by May 26.

The Arrival of the Monsoon:

During this time, the monsoon may also begin in the remaining portions of the Andaman Islands, the Andaman Sea and a portion of the east-central Bay of Bengal.

According to it, the monsoon is also expected to move into additional regions of the southeast Arabian Sea, southwest and southeast Bay of Bengal over the next three to four days, according to the forecast.

El Nino:

The start of the southwest monsoon season (June through September) in Kerala is often marked by the arrival of the monsoon on June 1. The IMD had previously predicted that India could experience below-average rainfall this year during the monsoon season. It may be because of the onset of El Niño conditions during the season, which result in lower precipitation throughout the nation.
