‘Sonam, It’s done, bro’ Salman Khan Urges Wangchuk to End Fast; Kareena Kapoor, R.Madhavan, Alia Back CJP Protest

Several Bollywood celebrities, politicians, and content creators are backing the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led student protest over the NEET paper leak and the irregularities in the education system. After Sonu Sood, Vir Das, Dia Mirza, Diljit Dosanjh, Shabana Azmi, Anurag Kashyap, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, actors Kareena Kapoor Khan, Varun Dhawan, Ananya Panday, Sara Ali Khan, and more have also joined the growing list of celebrities speaking out in support. 

What garnered the attention of all is Salman Khan’s message to educational reformist Sonam Wangchuk, who went on a 26-day hunger strike. Talking to his X timeline, the actor wrote, “Sonam, It’s done, bro.” Here’s more!

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has appealed to demonstrators to end the agitation, expressing confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will ensure action against those responsible. The actor also urged activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his hunger strike, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged examination irregularities,

Sharing a picture of himself on social media, Salman also urged students to return home, “The students are at top priority, educationally n security-wise, so they need not worry and have their parents worried for them. The Honorable Prime Minister has tweeted, and I am sure that he will take strict action against all those people who are responsible for this leak. So students, plz go back to your parents n homes.” He added, “Sonam, it’s done, bro. Don’t extend this. Keep the spirit for another day if there be a need, which I doubt, n eat something. If u want, will send u food from home.” Netizens have been trolling Salman Khan for his tweet and for calling Sonam Wangchuk ‘Bro’.

On the other hand, Kareena took to Instagram to share a heartfelt note in support of the students. She wrote, I’ve sat with this for a few days, but I can’t sit with it any longer. The voices of so many young people asking to be heard are impossible to ignore… and they shouldn’t be. We all know what education means to a child. It gives them confidence. It gives them hope. It gives families proof that tomorrow can be better than today. But education only works if children believe in it. And they stop believing the moment they suspect that honesty, hard work and merit don’t actually count.”

Alia Bhatt also shared a heart-warming note on Instagram. “Behind every student standing their ground is a dream, a family’s hope, a journey of countless sacrifices,” she wrote. R.Madhavan also took to his Instagram Stories to express his support for the students. 

He wrote, “As someone who has always believed in the limitless potential of India’s youth, I share the concern and disappointment felt by so many students and parents today. An education system must inspire confidence, fairness, and opportunity. Incidents such as examination paper leaks undermine that trust and can deeply affect the hopes, hard work, and dreams of countless young people and their families, especially in a country like India, where education plays such a defining role in shaping lives.”
