Speaking at an event in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat called Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) a room in India that has been occupied by strangers, saying it must be taken back, according to ANI.

Addressing the public, the RSS chief said, “Many Sindhi brothers are sitting here. I am very happy. They did not go to Pakistan; they went to undivided India. Circumstances have sent us here from that home because that home and this home are not different,” drawing huge applause from the audience.

“The whole of India is one home, but someone has removed one room of our house where my table, chair, and clothes used to be kept. They have occupied it. Tomorrow, I have to take it back…” he said as the audience clapped in agreement.

Referring further to undivided India, Bhagwat added, “The whole of India is one home, but someone has removed one room of our house where my table, chair, and clothes used to be kept. They have occupied it. Tomorrow, I have to take it back…” he said as the audience clapped in agreement.

The RSS chief’s comments come amid rising unrest in PoK, where local residents have protested against Pakistani rule. The Awami Action Committee (AAC) organised rallies where thousands of residents joined, calling for economic aid and political reforms.

More than 100 people have been injured and 10 have been killed in PoK after Pakistani forces clashed with protesters over the last three days. Four protesters were shot dead alone in Dhirkot (Bagh district); moreover, fatalities were also reported from PoK’s Muzaffarabad, Dadyal (Mirpur), and Chamyati near Kohala.

There have been increasing tensions in this strategically sensitive region as Pakistan has opted for repression over dialogue, according to analysts.

Pakistani rule has been exposed by the protests against it by the residents of PoK, experts said. In addition, they have revealed those who mischievously amplified anti-India propaganda for decades.

On Thursday, RSS chief Bhagwat stressed the need for strengthening security capabilities, noting that the international response to the Pahalgam terror attack revealed India’s true global alliances.

The RSS chief said that the responses of other countries were a test of “who our friends are in the global arena and to what extent they are willing to stand by us,” adding that India’s political leadership and the military delivered a “fitting response” that highlighted the firmness of the leadership, the valour of the armed forces, and the determination and unity of society.

The recent wave of protests in PoK underscores the widening gap between its residents and Islamabad, with experts warning of increasing instability. Analysts say Pakistan’s preference for repression over dialogue has further heightened tensions in this strategically sensitive region.
