On Monday, January 26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay for extending greetings on India’s 77th Republic Day.
Replying to a congratulatory message from Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides, Modi said, “Thank you dear President Nikos Christodoulides for your warm wishes. Cyprus is a close friend and trusted partner and we are committed to deepening our comprehensive partnership. I look forward to welcoming you in India.”

Responding to a message from President Macron on X, Modi thanked him for his wishes and said, “Thank you my dear friend President Emmanuel Macron for your warm wishes on India’s 77th Republic Day. I look forward to welcoming you in India soon and further deepening and diversifying the India-France strategic partnership.” Macron had earlier recalled his visit to India as the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations in 2024.

The prime minister also acknowledged greetings from Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, saying, “Thank you Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and the people of Bhutan for the warm wishes on the 77th Republic Day of India.” He added, “May the special bonds of friendship and unique ties between our nations continue to grow from strength to strength,” in response to Tobgay’s post on X.
