The mill of Red Fort explosion updates has been spinning vigorously. Right from the initial terror investigation to insights of the Hyundai i20 driver, Dr Umar Mohammed, every minute detail of the Delhi car blast has taken the internet by storm. As per reports, over thirteen people lost their lives, and 20 were injured. Roll your eyes over to know about the Delhi Red Fort blast latest news.

How Did the Red Fort Blast Happen?

The blast took place in a Hyundai i20 car at 6.52 pm near the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday, November 10. The occupant of the vehicle was Dr Umar Mohammed, a resident of Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir.

Reports suggest that Umar was the most recent owner of the i20 car. Before him, a few more people owned the i20 car. Police personnel detained the car’s original owner, Mohammad Salman, from Gurugram, Haryana, who purchased the vehicle in 2013. Subsequently, he had sold the vehicle to another man in New Delhi, who in turn sold it to Dr Umar.

The dedicated act of terrorism came hours after Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered nearly 3,000 kg of explosives from two residential buildings in Faridabad, Haryana. Sources revealed that Dr Umar reportedly panicked and triggered the premature blast near the Red Fort after the arrest of two key members of the white collar module, Dr Mujammil Shakeel and Dr Adil. The explosives were seized by the investigators. Additionally, Ammonium nitrate, which was found in Faridabad, was used in the blast.

Red Fort Terror Investigation

The National Investigation Agency and along with forensic experts, has officially taken over the case and inspected the blast site. CCTV footage from the site reportedly shows a masked Kashmiri man getting into the car. On the other hand, Haryana police stated they had found 2,900kg of explosives, 20 timers, two dozen remote controls, a rifle, and dozens of live rounds from the premises of Umar Mohammed’s house. Seven other people, including Dr Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie, Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather, Dr Shaheen Shahid, Parvez Ansari, and more accused of helping the doctor, were also arrested. Some of these Kashmiri doctors are associated with Al-Falah University in Faridabad.

According to the reports by India Today, a joint team of the Uttar Pradesh Police and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) have recovered six mobile phones, three knives, an international calling card and other digital devices from the house of Parvez Ansari, the brother of doctor Shaheen Shahid, who was arrested over her involvement with the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM)-linked “white-collar” Faridabad terror module.

According to investigators, Shaheen, from Daliganj, Lucknow, who was arrested on Monday, was leading the Jaish-e-Mohammed’s women recruitment wing in India. She headed the Jamaat-ul-Mominat, the group’s female wing.
