PM Modi Heads to Varanasi to Flag off 4 New Vande Bharat Express Trains

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Varanasi on November 8, 2025, to flag off four new Vande Bharat Express Trains. The trains will be running from Banaras to Khajuraho, Lucknow to Saharanpur, Firozpur to Delhi, and Ernakulam to Bengaluru. This is indeed a significant step toward expanding and building an advanced rail infrastructure in India. As per a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, it is the Prime Minister’s vision to provide citizens with easier, faster, and more comfortable travel through world-class railway services. 

On November 8, at around 8:15 am, PM Modi will flag off the new trains. The new routes will significantly reduce the travel time of commuters between major destinations. Additionally, the facility will enhance regional mobility, promote tourism, and support economic activity across the country. Here are a few reasons behind the additional invention.

Routes of the New Vande Bharat Trains 

Vande Bharat Train 1

  1. The Banaras to Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express will establish direct connectivity on this route and save about 2 hours and 40 minutes compared to the trains currently running.
  2. It will connect India’s most revered religious and cultural destinations, including Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Chitrakoot.
  3. It will strengthen and promote religious and cultural tourism.
  4. It will provide citizens with a fast, modern, and comfortable journey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Khajuraho.

Vande Bharat Train 2

  1. The Lucknow to Saharanpur Vande Bharat will complete the journey in approximately seven hours and 45 minutes, saving nearly one hour of travelling time. 
  2. The express service will greatly benefit passengers from Lucknow, Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Bijnor, and Saharanpur.
  3. It aims to improve access to the holy town of Haridwar via Roorkee. 

Vande Bharat Train 3

  1. The Firozpur to Delhi Vande Bharat will be the fastest service on this route, completing the whole journey in just six hours and 40 minutes. 
  2. The express train will strengthen connectivity between the national capital and key towns in Punjab, including Bathinda and Patiala.
  3. It is expected to boost trade, tourism, and employment opportunities, contributing to the socio-economic development of border regions and fostering greater integration with national markets.

Vande Bharat Train 4

  1. The Ernakulam to Bengaluru Vande Bharat will reduce travel time by over two hours, completing the route in eight hours and 40 minutes. 
  2. It will connect major IT and commercial hubs, offering professionals, students, and tourists a faster and more comfortable travel option.
  3. The line will also promote greater economic activity and tourism between Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, thus supporting regional growth and collaboration.
