Piyush Goyal to Visit Canada Next Week to Boost Trade and Investment Ties
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal to visit Canada to boost investment and trade ties. Next week he will be visiting Canada, according to the reports. In order to revive trade negotiations, attract long-term investments and strengthen economic partnerships, Piyush Goyal will lead a 150 member business delegation to Canada from May 25 to 27.
Piyush Goyal stated that he has a number of meetings scheduled with corporate and political leaders in Ottawa and Toronto. The visit will concentrate on pushing forward CEPA negotiations and interacting with significant Canadian pension funds that oversee assets totaling more than 2.4 trillion Canadian dollars.
As part of his long trip to Canada to promote bilateral trade, Goyal will also meet with representatives of Canada’s Maple 8 pension funds, which are some of the biggest public pension funds in the country.
The assets managed by the Maple 8 are worth about 2.4 trillion Canadian dollars, as stated earlier. The minister will talk to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and meet with his Canadian counterpart Maninder Sidhu for a bilateral discussion.
