“Paying More For Everything”, Man Compares Coconut Water Prices in Tier 1 Cities; Netizens React
In summer and especially in the heat, we often take coconut water, which is available anywhere on the streets for hydration and tender coconut water has many health benefits. But have you ever thought about what the price of coconut water might be in different cities of India? Currently, a post is going viral where a man shares what he has explored.
Paritsh Sharrma posted on X to compare the price of coconut water in Bangalore to what he spent in Pune and Delhi-NCR. He simply observed that the same beverage seems to be much more expensive in Bangalore than in other significant cities, according to him. He was prompted to doubt Bangalore’s cost of living by the variation in rates for a product as basic as coconut water.
He claimed that since high expenses have become a normal part of life in the city, residents might be paying exorbitant rates. His post has since gone viral, sparking a debate among users. Others taught him about certain economic terminology, while some discussed their experiences with coconut costs in various regions.

“In Delhi and NCR, coconut water is priced around Rs.60. Went to Pune, got it for around Rs. 50 to 70,” he wrote in his post. “Went to Bangalore and the same coconut cost me around Rs. 100 to 120, despite Bangalore being closer to the coast and closer to the source of coconuts,” he said further.
He also mentioned, “I feel people in Bangalore are being scammed because they are used to paying more for everything: rent, transport, food and even basic necessities.”
