A list for the monetization of National Highway Projects has been published by NHAI. According to reports, as part of the Centre’s asset monetization plan, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has created a preliminary list of National Highway segments to be monetized during FY 2026-27 using the Toll-Operate-Transfer (TOT) and Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) models.
According to the reports, the government collected around Rs. 29,000 crore in FY26 by monetizing highway assets and is aiming for approximately Rs. 35,000 crore in FY27. Nine states are home to the 17 highway projects that have been identified, with a total length of 1,692.5 km. These states are listed below.
1) Bihar
2) Haryana
3) Jharkhand
4) Karnataka
5) Maharashtra
6) Rajasthan
7) Tamil Nadu
8) Telangana
9) Uttar Pradesh
On Thursday, the ministry of road transportation and highways announced that assets proposed for monetization via the NHAI’s newly established public InvIT, Raajmarg Infra Investment Trust (RIIT), are not included in the monetization list. It is anticipated that those assets will be independently monetized at a later time.
Moreover, the authority said that the project strengthens its commitment to developing a modern, robust and sustainable National Highway network to promote economic growth, improve logistics efficiency and provide seamless connectivity across the country, reported by ANI.
