New Aadhaar Mobile App Launched by UIDAI with Enhanced Security, Privacy Features
UIDAI has launched a new Aadhaar mobile app which will have enhanced security and privacy features. It’s introduced for digital identity verification. One of the app’s most important features is the ability to share data selectively.
Based on the circumstances, users may choose precisely which Aadhaar information they want to share, such as their name, image or address. Through transparent, real time consent, this ensures greater privacy and gives users full control over their personal information. Users may essentially verify their online identity from anywhere at any time without having to physically present their Aadhaar or provide any additional personally identifying data, highlighted by media reports.
The Aadhaar App is designed to be simple to use for all users and it supports a wide range of practical applications. This includes checking into hotels via QR code scanning by the Offline Verification Seeking Entity (OVSE). Among other applications, it enables age verification for movie ticket purchases, voluntary face verification, hospital admissions for visitors and attendants and gig worker and service partner verification, as reported by PIB.
The new Aadhaar App, which includes DigiLocker and UPI, is in line with India’s overall strategy for digital public infrastructure, according to officials. The new Aadhaar App may be downloaded on Android and iOS devices and since it supports a variety of Indian languages, it is accessible to users all over the nation.
