Mumbai Local Train Update: 10 Suburban Services Upgraded To 15 Car Rakes, Check Routes

There is an important update for the local train commuters as the central railway will upgrade ten suburban services to 15 car rakes from Monday, July 20. As per the latest reports, Central Railway has upgraded ten existing Mumbai suburban local train services from 12 car to 15 car rakes.

This upgrade aims to increase the overall passenger capacity by 25 percent and ease the overcrowding on the Mumbai city’s suburban rail network with passenger comfort, according to an official announcement made by the Central Railway.

Every day, millions of commuters travel by local trains. Now, this move will help them to travel with more comfort than before. Importantly, this move will convert the five down services towards Kalyan/ Karjat/ Kasara/ Ambarnath and the other five up services towards CSMT Mumbai into 15 car operations, as per the post shared by the Central Railway on social media.

Central Railway has also shared a tweet on X. Stating, “Comfort now upgraded to 15 coaches! Central Railway has upgraded selected suburban services from 12-car to 15-car, making everyday travel better for millions of commuters.”

The number of 15 car suburban services on the Central Railway increased from 22 to 32 after these ten upgraded services were added. Central Railway and numerous news sources have confirmed this.
