Mumbai’s AQI has been worsening in the last few days. Now the air quality index stands in the unhealthy category. October heat is also present and residents are experiencing discomfort due to excessive heat. Yet, there is no relief from heat.

According to the latest reports, the AQI of Mumbai has hit 166. Mumbai came in third place out of 122 cities worldwide for air pollution, according to data from IQAir. People who are having throat infections or respiratory issues should take extra care. You can wear a mask if needed. Older people, children and people with pre-existing health conditions should also take care.

El Nino, a climate phenomenon characterized by higher than average Pacific Ocean temperatures, has been linked to changes in weather patterns. However, it has not been proven to be the primary cause of Mumbai’s growing pollution, highlighted by reports.
