July started with heavy rainfall and it continued in Mumbai for the entire week. Monsoon has also reached Delhi and has impacted daily life. The Delhi-NCR region is facing massive traffic jam issues. Many videos are circulating on social media where we can see the long queue of vehicles.
According to reports, citizens are experiencing long hours of waiting as the heavy rains impacted the daily life and there was a huge traffic problem in the city. On Tuesday, significant traffic jams were caused by severe rain throughout several areas of Gurugram, which also experienced waterlogging and road cave-ins, further worsening commuters’ distress.
Mumbai also faced waterlogging. Gurugram experienced its first round of substantial monsoon rainfall, with about 82 mm of rain falling. But it caused unending traffic jams throughout the metropolis. Areas such as Rajiv Chowk, Narsinghpur, and Hero Honda Chowk had a lot of traffic, according to reports. Delhi police also released a traffic advisory.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) raised its weather alert from orange to red for the entire city, predicting moderate to heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds.
