Monsoon Intensifies Across Maharashtra, IMD Issues Orange Alert for Multiple Districts
Monsoon has intensified across Mumbai and Maharashtra. Now, the IMD has issued a orange alert for many districts. For the last 24 hours, the city has been experiencing heavy rainfall and it will continue for the next few days according to the forecasts.
Next 48 Hours Forecast
Red, orange and yellow alerts have been issued in Maharashtra by the IMD as the southwest monsoon fully establishes itself, with Mumbai predicted to get heavy to very heavy rain through the beginning of July. The IMD has predicted mostly overcast conditions with heavy rain over Mumbai and its suburbs for the next 48 hours, with very heavy rainfall possible tonight and in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
In the next days, the IMD predicts that Mumbai-like rains will also occur in other coastal districts of Maharashtra, including Thane, Palghar and Raigad. Therefore, the agency has also issued an orange alert for these districts.
Temperature
It was also pointed out that the minimum temperature would probably be approximately 23 degrees Celsius, while the highest temperature would probably stay around 29 degrees Celsius.

According to the IMD forecast, certain districts, including Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Amravati and Nagpur, have been placed on an orange alert because of heavy to very heavy rainfall that may occur on some days until July 4. It is predicted that the majority of the other districts will experience moderate to severe rain and strong winds during this period.
