MD Rahul Bhatia to Take Interim Charge after IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers’s Resignation
According to reports, IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers has resigned with immediate effect and Rahul Bhatia, the company’s managing director, will take interim charge. The most well-liked and largest airline for domestic travel is IndiGo.
Former CEO Pieter Elbers confirmed that the company brought all of its operations back to normal following a fiasco in the first week of December. Pieter Elbers has now quit the position. Elbers’ resignation was accepted by the airline’s board of directors at a meeting on Tuesday.
Citing personal reasons, Elbers informed the board in his resignation letter that he was quitting his position and asked the company to waive his notice period.
According to the statement, Rahul Bhatia, the airline’s managing director, will take over as interim charge of the business. With a 35.69% stake as of December, Bhatia’s InterGlobe Enterprises is the biggest shareholder in InterGlobe Aviation, the parent firm of IndiGo. The shares of InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of IndiGo, closed 3.46% higher on March 10 at Rs. 4,382.45 on the BSE, according to the reports.
