Mahindra to Invest Rs. 15,000 Crore in Maharashtra, Set To Build Largest Integrated Auto, Tractor Plant in Nagpur
Mahindra plans to construct the biggest integrated tractor and automobile manufacturing facility in Nagpur and invest Rs. 15,000 crore in Maharashtra. According to a press statement, the largest plant in Nagpur will be built in Maharashtra with funding from the Mahindra Group. In a major step towards the Group’s long-term growth plan, the Mahindra Group today revealed intentions to open its biggest integrated production facility for vehicles and tractors in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
The investment of Rs. 15,000 crore by Mahindra Group in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nashik will result in the creation of several jobs, with up to 6000 people finding employment in the three wheeler sector, according to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday, reported by ANI.
The announcement was made on Friday at the ‘Advantage Vidarbha’ event in Maharashtra. ”The state of the art facility will be developed across an area of 1500 acres in Vidarbha, complemented by a 150 acre supplier park in Sambhajinagar,” according to the Mahindra Group’s press release.
The Nagpur facility will be able to manufacture Mahindra’s next generation vehicle models. It will be able to manufacture electric cars, conventional gasoline and diesel engines and other next generation technologies. In order to expand its engine manufacturing and support its cutting edge technology initiatives, the business is also buying additional land in the Igatpuri-Nashik region.
