‘We Take All Castes and Religions Along With Us’: NCP Releases Ajit Pawar’s Last Call
On Wednesday, January 4, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) released an audio of NCP chief Ajit Pawar’s last phone conversation before he tragically died in a plane crash on January 28 in Baramati, Maharashtra.
The 66-year-old Ajit Pawar had his last phone conversation with a relative, Shrijeet Pawar. During the call, Ajit Pawar shared a message of unity and equality, stressing the importance of moving forward together while embracing people of all religions and castes.
The NCP worker said that he contacted Ajit Pawar over the selection of certain candidates for the Zilla Parishad elections. “I messaged him when he was in the aircraft. I think when his phone got network range, he called me to explain his decision, only 10 minutes before the crash,” Shrijeet said.
What Was the Conversation?
Ajit Pawar: “We also take all castes and religions along with us.”
Shrijeet Pawar: “No, Dada, I just said what I felt.”
Ajit Pawar: “The Mali community has been given representation in the Zilla Parishad from the Supe group. We have tried to give justice to everyone.”
Shrijeet Pawar: “Yes, Dada, take whatever decision you think is right.”
