ISMR 2026: Union Minister Sitharaman, Goyal in Singapore for Talks to Deepen Tech, Investment and Trade Ties

Singapore is hosting high level discussions between Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal with the goal of strengthening economic ties with the Southeast Asian financial center.

Sitharaman is leading a ministerial delegation that includes External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Goyal and Minister of State for Electronics and IT and Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada for the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR), while a 70 member Indian business delegation accompanying Goyal will seek new investment, trade and technology partnerships, reports PTI.

According to official statements, the meeting will take place on August 20. As stated above, Goyal is heading around 70 prominent business leaders from various sectors, including artificial intelligence, technology, manufacturing, infrastructure, financial services, healthcare, food and agriculture, logistics, maritime and trade on a three day visit to Singapore beginning today, August 19.

The commerce ministry stated that the business delegations would participate in government to business and business to business engagements with an emphasis on investment, market access, technology collaboration, partnerships and talent development, according to reports.

Business leaders from both nations will have a parallel forum at the India-Singapore Business Roundtable, which will be held in conjunction with the ISMR. A ceremony to sign an MoU will also be part of the program.
