IndiGo Guarantees Complete Adherence to Revised Pilot Duty Norms
Two months ago, India’s largest aviation company faced massive flight disruption, leaving many passengers to wait for hours and hours. Now as per the latest report, the restrictions on pilot duty norms have come to an end, IndiGo guarantees operational stability.
The DGCA granted IndiGo’s request for specific relaxations in the implementation of the new Flight Duty Time Limit (FDTL) rules until February 10, following the cancellation of 2,507 flights between December 3 and 5.
According to media reports, the disruptions in December were caused by a number of factors, including insufficient regulatory preparedness, system software support deficits and management structure and operational control failures at IndiGo.

The statement comes at the conclusion of the temporary pilot duty norm relaxations granted to the nation’s biggest carrier by the regulatory Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Following December’s widespread cancellations and regulatory penalties, IndiGo has exited its temporary exemption from stricter flight duty time regulations granted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, guaranteeing steady operations with a larger pilot base.
IndiGo claims to have the best pool of pilots and is preparing for complete compliance when the FDTL exception expires.
