After experiencing a bit of humid temperature, now Mumbai’s temperature has dropped and citizens are experiencing winter chills from morning to night. The IMD has warned about cold wave in many districts of Maharashtra.
For over a dozen areas, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow cold advisory, urging the public to be ready for deteriorating weather over the next 48 hours.
Despite the IMD’s five-day forecast for the city calling for a slight increase in temperature, reaching around 16 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 18 degrees Celsius by Tuesday.
Mumbai Weather:
The minimum temperature was 15.6 degrees Celsius at the IMD’s Santacruz facility. With a temperature that was 3.2 degrees lower than the seasonal norm, this reading represented an additional decrease from Wednesday’s 16.7 degrees Celsius. The temperature at the Colaba observatory in south Mumbai was 20.9 degrees Celsius, which is 0.8 degrees lower than the average. The city has experienced much colder weather than last month.

Yellow Alert in the Cold Wave:
In response, the IMD has released a yellow cold warning for a number of districts, including Dhule, Nandurbar, Nashik, Jalgaon, Pune, Solapur, Satara, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Nanded and Latur.

Fog Condition:
Some areas of the Northeast, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh are expected to experience thick fog. In the meantime, the forecast indicates that there is a very high possibility of cold wave conditions in certain isolated areas in Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, North Interior Karnataka, Odisha, West Madhya Pradesh and other inland locations.
