Harsh Goenka Questions Civic Sense After Passengers Litter Vande Bharat Train, Internet Reacts

A common discussion about civic sense has been sparked by a video posted by industrialist Harsh Goenka after he revealed what some people leave on their chairs after the journey.

He shared the video on X and highlighted the difference between the amenities on the train and the garbage that passengers left behind. The video started with passengers being shown receiving breakfast, newspapers and snacks in their seats. The train’s washroom looked clean and well maintained and the crew was also seen collecting the trays of meals.

The passenger experience was shown before and after in the footage that Goenka posted on X. After the guests had made use of the amenities, the video concentrated on the coach’s state. Plastic wrappers were pushed into seat pockets and empty drink cans were left on the floor and on the seats. Newspapers were strewn about the coach rather than being kept neatly.

Goenka said, “How can we teach our people civic sense?” after sharing the video. He characterized Vande Bharat as fast, modern and comfortable and wondered how such amenities could be maintained in good shape if passengers did not assume responsibility for their garbage. The post rapidly devolved into a well-known debate about behavior and cleanliness in public areas.
