Caught on Camera: Man Assaults Child, Kicked While Playing Badminton, Complaint Filed

A neighbor in Thyagaraja Naga, Bengaluru, kicked a 5 year old kid from behind as he was playing badminton in the street. According to reports, the event occurred on December 14. The boy suffered an injury. An FIR was filed. After public outcry on social media, the suspect was arrested on Friday.

The video of this incident has gone viral and raised concerns about child safety too. You can see in the video, a man approaches the child who was playing badminton with his mother and a friend. The man comes from back running and kicks him deliberately and walks away like nothing happened. His mother seemed in shock. Reports say that the boy was injured due to the kick. In the video you can see the man kicking him very forcefully. People are reacting to the video with anger. Many are saying that the man should get punished for what he did.

The footage shows the kid playing badminton with other kids at about 1:15 pm. The man suddenly exited the home, rolled up his sleeves, ran and kicked the kid in the back. As the man walks away casually, others can be seen helping the boy and his mother.

The boy’s mother claimed that the man kicked her son like a football, causing him to bleed above the eyebrow and sustain scrapes to his hands and legs. Additionally, she stated that the man is well-known in the area for his violent and abusive behavior. After initially being released with a caution, the suspect was taken into custody by the Bengaluru Police on Friday. Additional investigation is being conducted, as per the media reports.
