May 1 is a bank holiday in several states, including Maharashtra, Delhi, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Tripura and others, according to the RBI holiday list.
The official list of bank holidays for May 2026 has been made public by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). There will be 12 days of bank closures this month, including Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays and local holidays.
