Counting is currently underway in the Union Territory of Puducherry and across four states, with early leads beginning to take shape.
The latest figures show that the BJP is leading strongly in West Bengal, ahead in 180 of the 277 constituencies. In Tamil Nadu, new entrant Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by actor C. Joseph Vijay, has made an impressive debut, taking the lead in 109 seats.
In Assam, the BJP is leading in 80 out of 126 seats. The Congress is ahead in 24 constituencies, followed by the AGP in 9 seats and the Bodoland People’s Front in 10.
In Puducherry, results are available for 29 of the 30 seats. The ruling AINRC is leading in 10 seats, while the BJP is ahead in 4. The AIADMK is leading in 1 seat, and the DMK in 4.
In West Bengal, the ruling Trinamool Congress is leading in 92 seats. In Tamil Nadu, the opposition AIADMK is in second place with leads in 64 constituencies, while the ruling DMK is in third with 40. PMK is leading in 6 seats, and Congress in 5.
In Kerala, counting trends are available for all 140 seats. The Congress has taken an early lead in 56 constituencies. The ruling CPM is ahead in 30 seats, while its allies CPI and RSP are leading in 11 and 3 seats respectively. Kerala Congress is ahead in 7 seats, and the BJP in 2.
