Amazon CEO Meets PM Narendra Modi, E-commerce Giant to Invest 48 Billion USD In India Over Four Years
Amazon to make a whopping long-term investment in India. US e-commerce giant Amazon announced on Thursday that the company will invest a total of 48 billion USD to expand and support its business in India from 2026 to 2030, that is for four years, during a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy is currently in India and held a meeting with PM Modi. Jassy reiterated Amazon’s long-term commitment to India, announcing plans to invest an additional 13 billion USD in the development of artificial intelligence and cloud infrastructure in India by 2030.

This brings Amazon’s total planned investment in AI and cloud infrastructure expansion and support from 2026 to 2030 to more than 21 billion USD, part of a total investment of 48 billion USD, making the company one of the world’s largest investors in AI and cloud infrastructure in the country, according to reports.

This investment will increase the capacity of AWS data centers in Mumbai and Hyderabad, giving startups, enterprises and government agencies access to custom AI chips, managed AI services, secure and reliable cloud technology and development tools to innovate faster, scale faster and serve customers around the world.
