Reports suggest that filmmaker Zoya Akhtar has completed her draft of the much-anticipated sequel featuring the OG trio. 

No sooner did the news spread than speculations around the theme and plot began rise. What piqued the curiosity is the fact that Zoya Akhtar is in talks with the lead actors. Here’s what you can expect from the second installment.

The second chapter of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara might go on the floors anytime soon. Since the makers and the leading stars, including Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, and Farhan Akhtar, are in talks with each other, fans can’t help but wait for an official announcement. Reportedly, the sequel might show them in their 40s. Rather than rushing forward, the narrative might revolve around the three’s shifting bonds, unanswered ambitions, and how friendship evolves over time. 

A source close to one of the media publications quoted, “Zoya has finally locked a draft she is happy with. She was always clear that a sequel to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara would only happen if it had something new to say. It’s not a nostalgic rehash; the film acknowledges the time elapsed and the changes that have taken place in the three men’s lives.” Furthermore, the trio’s reunion depends on the alignment of their dates. As of now, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar are busy with other professional commitments. If things turn out as per plan, then the film could finally go on floors in the second half of 2026.
