Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups Receives an 18+ Rating in the UK, Watch English Trailer Here!

After sparking a buzz online in India, the makers of Yash’s “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups” have begun targeting the international audience. On Wednesday evening, they unveiled a new English trailer focusing the period setting and a tighter edits. Despite this one a shorter version in contrast to the Indian Hindi version, the makers have added two new snippets.  It is quite evident that they aim to prioritize word-building rather than on the lead actor’s electrifying performance. 

On the other hand, the film has received an 18+ certificate in the UK by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). When compared to Ranveer Singh’s “Dhurandhar”, the film has bagged highest ratings for violence, sex and injury detail. Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar was the first to receive the highest rating of 5/5, but only for violence.

“Toxic” will hit the theatres across multiple territories in the Kannada, Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages on Aug. 26, 2026. North American theaters will screen the film in English and Kannada with additional dubbed versions available. Helmed by Geetu Mohandas, the BBFC has awarded the film a 5/5 rating for violence, sex and injury detail, 4/5 ratings for threat and horror, language, drugs, sexual violence and sexual threat, as well as suicide and self-harm. 

The high rating for sexual content reflects the film’s adult-oriented material, including erotic scenes and sequences set in strip clubs. With a runtime of 191 minutes and 41 seconds, the BBFC synopsis follows “the leader of a powerful drug cartel in Goa” as his own actions eventually lead to his downfall.
