Wonder Man Trailer: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Steals the Spotlight in Marvel Studios’ Upcoming Superhero Action Series

On January 1, 2026, Marvel Studios gave fans the best New Year’s gift by releasing the trailer for Wonder Man. The upcoming eight-episode series premieres exclusively on Disney+ on January 27. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Andrew Guest, the series tells the tale of aspiring Hollywood actor Simon Williams, a role played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Simon is striving hard to get his career off the ground when a superhero role emerges on the horizon. 

After the buzzing teaser trailers of Avengers: Doomsday teasers, marking Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor comeback over Christmas, Marvel Studios has clearly kept fans on the edge of their seat. This time, it is intriguing to know how Simon Williams, a struggling actor with secret powers, tries to land the role of a wonder man for a lifetime.

Crafted by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Spider-Man: Brand New Day filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, Wonder Man features Emmy Award winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams and Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley in key roles. These two actors, at opposite ends of their careers, doggedly pursue life-changing roles in this film as audiences get a peek behind the curtain of the entertainment industry.

The other supporting cast comprises Demetrius Goose, Ed Harris, Arian Moayed, Lauren Glazier, Olivia Thirlby, and Zlatko Buric. Wonder Man is clearly one of the most anticipated series hitting the OTT screen in January 2026.
